Kawempe North is located the northwestern edge of Kampala. It is bordered by Nabweru to the north, Kisaasi to the east, Bwaise to the south, Kazo to the southwest and Nansana in Wakiso District to the west. This area is largely dominated by the Muslim community and most of the residents are actively involved in politics.

According to a survey carried out by our reporters on ground the highly anticipated poles which are scheduled by the electoral commission to take place on the 13th of March 2025 show that the NRM candidate Hajjati Farida Nambi is very popular and will most definitely take the sit.

Hajjati Farida Nambi who is the daughter of NRMs vice chairman Hajji Moses Kigongo is a social activist and politician. She has participated in a number of community activities and recently led a campaign with KCCA to cleanup areas of Kawempe North.
Hajjati Nambi has pledged to focus on socio-economic transformation, particularly supporting women and youth through initiatives like the Parish Development Model (PDM) and the ‘GROW’ project funded by the World Bank.

She has demonstrated a commitment to grassroots engagement, Nambi has been visiting residents in their homes across various neighborhoods in Kawempe North. This approach aims to foster direct communication, allowing her to understand the unique challenges and aspirations of her potential constituents.

Today the President of the republic of Uganda H.E Yoweri Kaguta Museveni will be in Kawempe in support of the NRM flag bearer. The Kawempe North sit became vacant after the death of the former Member of Parliament Muhammed
